Hundreds of people from different parts of southern Nigeria have filled the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke. They came to catch flights going to Lagos.
DAILY POST visited the Ebonyi airport on Wednesday morning at Onueke in Ezza South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. They saw that commercial flight services had fully started. A plane from United Nigeria Airlines landed at the airport without any issues.
It was also seen that many airport taxis were parked in important spots, ready to pick up passengers who arrived from Lagos with United Nigeria Airlines and take them to their various places in Ebonyi State.
Some passengers who spoke to DAILY POST at the airport said there were no problems with their takeoff or landing at Chuba Okadigbo International Airport. They said the runway is the best one they’ve seen in the country.
One of the passengers, Richard Idike, who works as the Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Ebonyi shared his thoughts. He said, “Commercial flights have just started here at Chuba Okadigbo Airport in Onueke. We flew from Lagos to Onueke with United Nigeria Airlines and everything went smoothly. Both takeoff and landing were perfect.”
He also encouraged Nigerians, especially those living in the southern region and Ebonyi State, to know that Chuba Okadigbo Airport is now active and ready for use. He advised people to buy tickets and start flying from this airport.
When talking about the runway at the Ebonyi airport, he said it was the best in the country. He explained that he has used other airports, but this one stands out. He added that the airport’s runway had already been certified by the proper authorities.
Many passengers were seen carrying their luggage and heading out, while others who were flying back to Lagos with United Nigeria Airlines were standing in line.
The Commissioner for Aviation and Transport Technology, Mrs. Ngozi Obichukwu, said that commercial flight operations at the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport in Onueke Ezza South LGA, will continue without interruption.
She asked travelers to book their tickets through the Ministry of Aviation. She also reminded them to always arrive early so they won’t miss their flights.
