Jewar Airport is India’s first aviation project with 100% foreign investment. It’s expected to change how people travel.

The airport is spread over 1,334 hectares. Zurich International Airport AG is building it. This project is being managed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Developer Authority (YEIDA).

This airport is also called Noida International Airport. It’s located in Gautam Buddha Nagar. One runway and one terminal are almost ready.

The airport covers 1,334 hectares. Zurich Airport is the builder. YEIDA is in charge of making it happen.

Jewar Airport is India’s first aviation project which is completely foreign-funded. When finished, it will have six runways and six terminals. It can handle 225 million people each year.

Right now, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport is very busy. It handles 80 million passengers a year. Jewar Airport will help ease that load and serve all of India. YEIDA CEO Arunvir Singh says the airport will link to many places in India, not just the NCR.

Jewar Airport is only 700 meters from the Yamuna Expressway. In addition to this you can connect into Delhi – Mumbai expressway, Lucknow – Agra expressway, Ganga expressway and Meerut – Prayagraj expressway. Singh says, you can get from Jaipur to Jewar in less than 2 hours 21 minutes.

YEIDA and the central government are working to link the airport with many travel options. A new rapid rail line is being developed. The Noida Metro will also extend to the airport. In addition, a Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) system.

Indian Railways is building an underground line. It will connect the Amritsar–Kolkata route. The line, called ‘Chola line’ is a mere 16 km from Jewar. To building the airport YEIDA got 6000 hectares of land. There were no protests or court cases. The state calls it a model for peaceful land deals.
