An IndiGo Delhi-Leh flight had to return to the departure airport shortly after takeoff because of a technical issue that led to certain landing restrictions at the designation on Thursday. The aircraft turned around before reaching Leh as a safety measure.
The Airbus A320-251N, which was operations flight 6E2006, departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport at 6:30 am and was scheduled to land in Leh at 7:50 am.
The aircraft is now going through essential maintenance work before it can fly again. In the meantime, a replacement aircraft has been arranged to take the passengers to Leh, a spokesperson told ANI.
On Wednesday, passengers on another IndiGo Delhi-Leh flight to Raipur were stuck inside the plane for nearly 40 minutes after landing, due to a technical issue with the door. That flight landed in Raipur at approximately 2:20 pm.
Among the travelers were former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey.
Later, the ground staff damaged to open the door. IndiGo said it was a minor problem and apologized for the inconvenience caused.
